260927 – Production release

Your route now lives on the map itself, weather follows your plan, and plenty holds it steady underneath.

This release takes the development branch to production. It brings the planning rewrite, along with weather and platform improvements, below.

🗺️ Planning, rebuilt around the map

  • Route is the map: a full-bleed map carries a floating route card, which expands into a directions-style list of your stops, so the chart is always the main thing you’re looking at (F1347, F1375).
  • Hold the map, drop a pin: it tells you what it will do, such as adding a stop between two others, before you confirm. A single tap never changes your route (F1348).
  • One search, everywhere: aerodromes, aircraft and people now share one picker, sorted by your own airfields and by what lies along your route, with one entry per aerodrome (F1349, F1375, F815).
  • Stops say what they mean: each one is now overfly, touch-and-go or land, so your route reflects what you actually intend at each point (F1350).
  • Local flights: set the same aerodrome as your start and end and give it a duration instead of a route (F1350).
  • Alternates: up to three are suggested along your route, and you can add or remove them (F1350).
  • Plan, Details, Checks: three icons on the map replace a fixed wizard, so you can jump straight to what you need, and your plan now saves itself as you go (F1346).

🌦️ Weather that follows your plan

  • Every plan now includes surface wind and sunrise and sunset. Every paid plan adds winds aloft and rain radar, Free Flight adds ridge lift, Cross Country adds thermal forecasts, and Pro has everything (F1410).
  • Your own club and personal weather stations now reach the briefing reliably (F683).
  • Opening Fly on a plan shows that plan’s own briefing, not another one (F610, F07).
  • When you upgrade, we now suggest the least expensive plan that keeps everything you already have (F1204).

🛠️ Under the hood: steadier and more private

  • Saved data: photos, aircraft hours entries and other saved details now persist reliably across the app (F1423).
  • Weather monitoring: we now watch briefing requests for signs of upstream trouble, so we can act before you’d notice anything (F1422, F07).
  • Traffic streaming: the conspicuity stream now releases its database connection before it starts streaming, for steadier performance (F477).
  • Signing out: it now also clears your last plan, route and map position, so the next pilot to sign in starts clean (F1212).
  • Account deletion: an account past its deletion grace period is now fully erased, as promised (F52).

🔭 Coming next

  • A walk-out check before you leave for the aircraft, confirming route, weather and currency one more time (F1354).
